The Hotel combines comfort and convenience as it is located just a few steps from the exhibition center and a short walk from the bustling area of Finnieston. Its 216 rooms have luxurious beds and space to recharge. Free Wi-Fi, a spacious 24-hour fitness center and a restaurant serving world classics with a local touch and an outdoor terrace.
Dundonald Links, home of the 2017 Scottish Open, is located next to the renowned Glasgow Gailes and Western Gailes. The course measures from 6,415 to 7,100 yards, so it perfectly accommodates every golfer. The experience of playing at Dundonald Links starts from the moment you enter the club, everyone treats you as if you have been a member for years.
Founded in 1887, Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club has an illustrious history and has been a course used for Open final qualys on multiple occasions. Not far from Troon, Kilmarnock Barassie offers magnificent views and challenging holes for golfers of all levels. The narrow fairways and undulating, well-kept greens make Kilmarnock a typical Scottish links. Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club should be a "must" if you are planning a trip to Troon.
Home to multiple Opens, and the famous “Duel in the Sun” between Watson and Nicklaus in 1977, this link with a lot of historical connection with the Second World War, presents between holes 4 and 12 perhaps the most impressive string of 9 consecutive holes on the sea. The course is part of Trump Turnberry, considered the best Golf Resort in Scotland with beautiful views of Ailsa Craig (the enormous rock that rises from the sea). On the 9th hole, you will find the famous postcard of Robert Bruce's lighthouse and castle. Its clubhouse and pro-shop commemorate the occasions when Ailsa hosted the Open or the British Amateur.
